INSURANCE SALES AGENT- FARM AND RURAL

Grasslands Recruitment Specialists is recruiting 2 full-time, remote Farm and Rural Insurance Sales Agents, one in Southwestern Ontario and one in Eastern Ontario. Our client is an established and growing independent insurance sales agency who specializes in providing insurance protection for farms, commercial/agribusiness, rural property homes and supporting automotive.

Their plans for growth include these two new additions to their team. The primary focus of these new roles is new business development in the respective market areas through new product sales, personal service for policy renewals/endorsements and developing and managing client relationships while providing professional advice.

The Insurance Sales Agent- Farm and Rural earns a base salary of $70-90K DOE, plus lucrative annual KPI-based variable opportunity plus quarterly bonus on obtaining new business within the target niche. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE INSURANCE SALES AGENT – FARM AND RURAL

Reporting directly to the Agency Manager, in this Insurance Sales Agent role, you will grow insurance product sales and provide service with a focus on rural property: farms, hobby farms, commercial operations and supporting auto. Working from your home-based office, you will generate new business opportunities utilizing access to multiple insurance markets, while maintaining exceptional quality service to clients. You will have face to face communication and meetings with clients offering insurance products, claims support and professional advice. Further, you will participate in marketing and advertising events and tradeshows and will contribute to strategic planning with creative ideas to grow and evolve the business. Regular travel throughout the service areas is expected.

AM I A GOOD FIT FOR THIS INSURANCE SALES AGENT – FARM AND RURAL OPPORTUNITY?

The ideal candidate profile includes:

  • Minimum 3-5 years agricultural sales experience (farm and commercial insurance sales expertise preferred)
  • Farm or agribusiness background and knowledge
  • License to sell insurance (RIBO, OTL) in Ontario, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
  • Valid driver’s license with a reliable vehicle
  • Reliable self-starter with a motivated outgoing character and a positive attitude
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, experience with broker/agent management systems)
  • Team oriented, a willingness to learn with excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service within strict timelines while paying attention to detail.
