DIRECTOR OF QUALITY- ANIMAL HEALTH PHARMA

Grasslands Recruitment Specialists is recruiting a full-time, on-site office-based experienced Director of Quality- Animal Health Pharmaceuticals. This position will be based in rural SW Ontario and will work for a Canadian market-leading manufacturer of animal health medicants and other animal health care products. Our client is Health Canada licensed, FDA approved, and HACCP certified, and occupies a dominant position in their market.

In this full-time, permanent Director of Quality role, you will have responsibility for setting, leading and continuously improving the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions across the organisation. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, robust laboratory and quality systems and a strong, embedded quality culture across the business.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE DIRECTOR OF QUALITY- ANIMAL HEALTH PHARMA

Reporting to the COO, the Director of Quality leads the QA Manager and the QC Lab Manager and works cross-functionally with Operations, Regulatory and R&D Leadership to support both day-to-day execution and long-term company improvement. In this senior role, key areas of responsibility and oversight include Quality Leadership and Culture, Regulatory Compliance and Quality Systems, Laboratory and Technical Operations, Computerized Systems and Validation, LIMS and Laboratory Software, and Documentation and Writing.

AM I A GOOD FIT FOR THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY?

Ideal Director of Quality candidates will offer:

  • Minimum of undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry of a closely related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in quality and/or laboratory leadership roles within a regulated industry (pharmaceuticals, chemical manufacturing, cannabis)
  • Demonstrated professional experience working directly within a laboratory setting
  • Strong leadership background spanning both QC and QA functions
  • A strong performance orientation, and ability to motivate and coach others to achieve their own full potential
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to support a team to understand and implement a customer-oriented, quality-driven approach that upholds high standards and achieves a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Preference and ability to live and work in a rural setting of SW Ontario
