A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE REGIONAL AGRONOMIC ACCOUNT MANAGER
As a Regional Agronomic Account Manager, you will be the key connection between our client, its retail partners, agronomists, consultants, and the growers they serve within your assigned territory.
This is more than a traditional sales role. You will combine technical agronomic knowledge with strategic sales execution, helping customers implement smarter and more efficient approaches to seed, soil, and plant fertility.
You will take ownership of growing your territory through direct sales calls and relationship development while positioning complete fertility systems rather than individual products. You will serve as a technical resource for key influencers, identify new market and distribution opportunities, conduct demonstration trials, and help customers translate agronomic science into practical solutions for their operations.
Success in this role requires initiative and independence. You will spend approximately 50% of your time travelling, including approximately three days per week within your territory on a regular basis. You will work independently in your region while remaining connected to a broader sales, marketing, and agronomy team across Western Canada.
AM I A GOOD FIT FOR THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY?
-
Minimum of 5 years of agricultural sales and marketing experience, with more extensive industry experience preferred
-
Previous experience working within agricultural retail is strongly valued
-
Strong knowledge of agronomy, soil health, crop fertility, biologicals, or plant enhancement technologies
-
B.Sc. Agriculture or an Agriculture Business Diploma is preferred; significant relevant agronomic and agricultural sales experience will also be considered
-
Demonstrated success developing sales and relationships within retail and wholesale markets
-
A self-starter who is comfortable taking ownership of a large territory and working independently with limited direct supervision
-
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop lasting relationships with growers, retailers, agronomists, consultants, and other industry professionals
-
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate detailed scientific information into practical, decision-ready information
-
A commitment to continuous learning in agronomy, sales, and business best practices
-
Comfortable with extensive regional travel, including approximately three days per week in the territory on a regular basis
