SALES MANAGERS

Grasslands Recruitment Specialists has been engaged to recruit two Sales Managers. These newly created roles are the result of strong performance and continued expansion in the Canadian market over the past two years.

Do you have 10 or more years field sales experience in crop protection or the agricultural industry? Do you hold or are able to attain any of the following designations: CCA, CCSC, P.Ag?

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE SALES MANAGER

As a Sales Manager, you’ll lead a team of five to six sales representatives, driving them to meet customer acquisition goals and achieve revenue growth targets. Your role combines strategic planning and hands-on leadership as you develop and execute sales plans, coach and mentor your team, and build strong, trust-based relationships with farmers, cooperatives, and agricultural retailers. Drawing on your deep industry knowledge and B2B sales experience in the ag sector, you’ll work cross-functionally to align efforts, overcome challenges, and ensure your team is equipped to deliver results in a competitive market.

AM I A GOOD FIT FOR THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, or a related field; advanced credentials (e.g., CSLP, Master’s) are an asset.
  • 5–7 years of ag industry sales experience, including 2–3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in selling crop inputs such as seed, fertilizer, or crop protection products.
  • Skilled in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proven leadership and coaching ability to support a team of 5–6 reps.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Solid understanding of Western Canadian agriculture, seasonal demands, and regulatory environment.
  • Willing and able to travel frequently across AB, SK, and MB (approx. 50%) and attend industry events as required.
  • Home-office based with regular field and client visits.
