DESIGN ENGINEER

Our client is a manufacturer of vertical feed mixers.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE DESIGN ENGINEER

The Design Engineer’s role involves overseeing new product development projects, driving process and design improvements, and spearheading research and development initiatives. Collaboration with the design/drafting team is crucial to conceptualize ideas, conduct thorough testing, and revise drawings, bill of materials, and operating procedures. Partnering with production is essential to identify process gaps, ensure product quality, and streamline builds. Leading efforts in liaising with the parts and warranty team for service parts needs, warranty/failure analysis, and troubleshooting is key. Providing guidance to the team of designers, coaching, managing goals, and aligning with commitments and KPIs is also part of the responsibilities. Approval of drawings and calculations as required is a critical aspect of the role.

WORK SCHEDULE

The Design Engineer will work at the main office located in South Edmonton.

AM I A GOOD FIT FOR THIS EXCITING OPPORTUNITY?

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Completion of an engineering degree from an accredited institute.
  • Registration with APEGA (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta) with a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) status is required.
  • Possess 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience, demonstrating strong skills, knowledge, and expertise in the field.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role, specifically as a process and technical leader within a manufacturing, heavy equipment, or industrial environment, is highly valued.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team of individuals.
