RESEARCH DIRECTOR
Grasslands Recruitment Specialists has been engaged to recruit a Research Director for a Non-Profit in Saskatchewan.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE RESEARCH DIRECTOR
The duties involve identifying and developing research projects, including setting priorities, collaborating with researchers, and writing proposals for research and demonstration projects. Field research responsibilities include coordinating activities such as seeding, treatment applications, data collection, and quality control to ensure research adheres to protocols. Additionally, the role involves data analysis, preparing reports, and writing peer-reviewed manuscripts. Technology transfer tasks include creating reports, presentations, and other materials for stakeholders, and presenting findings at field days and events, while collaborating with agricultural organizations to share relevant information.
AM I A GOOD FIT FOR THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY?
- Applicants must be registered with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists as defined by The Agrologists Act
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Crop or Soil Science with combined years of experience.
- A Doctoral degree would be considered an asset.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in western Canadian farming practices.
- Experience in a managerial capacity and strong leadership skills.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the research community as well as with producers.
- Expertise in experimental research design and statistical analyses.
- ARM (Agriculture Research Management) computer program knowledge is an asset.
- Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Knowledge and experience in field research with the ability to operate small plot equipment; and a valid driver’s license is also a requirement.
