SERVICE MANAGER – DAIRY EQUIPMENT
Grasslands Recruitment Specialists is actively recruiting a full-time Service Manager. This key position is based out of a dairy industry supply company’s head office and production facility located in SW Ontario. The position will report directly to the owners of the company and is the ideal fit for a forward-looking person who aspires to take on a key role in a growing company within a stable industry. The position pays $40-50/hour depending on skills and experience. Hours are 7 am- 5 pm daily, excluding lunch.

Our client had humble beginnings in 1990 as a name-brand dairy milking equipment dealer. Since that time, this privately held firm has expanded their scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, they acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service, and installation business, they are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants, the construction of agricultural structures and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE SERVICE MANAGER – DAIRY EQUIPMENT
As the Service Manager – Dairy Equipment, your activities will ensure the smooth handling and timely completion of all service requests. It is an expectation that you will lead your department with moral authority and demonstrate the values and purpose of the business in every action, excelling in your leading, coaching, inspiring and support of others to be self-directed and accountable.
- Taking service requests via multiple channels
- Creating work orders (WO) for service requests
- Dispatching calls to appropriate technicians (team of 10 technicians)
- Working with parts team to ensure parts are pulled and returned for service calls
- Communicating requirements and resolutions to calls with technicians
- Ensure service calls are closed and billed accurately within tight time windows
- Scheduling regularly scheduled services
- Communicating upcoming weekly and daily work schedules with team
- This position has an assistant to help with warranty claims, data entry, and miscellaneous tasks

- General technical aptitude- training on specific systems will be provided
- Previous experience working in a service, project and/or fabrication shop/operations environment
- Extremely well organized and focused
- Proven ability to multitask and do so in a fast-paced environment
- Great follow-through and follow-up skills to ensure tasks are completed
- Well versed in standard PC programs
- Previous experience successfully communicating with customers, internal employees, vendors
- Demonstrated history of successfully leading others
- Established ability to work independently, take full ownership of the job and set your schedule to meet job requirements
- Able to manage stress and deadlines with a calm demeanour
- Excellent communication skills
